Refunds & Cancellations

For homeowners

The TheQuoteGuys platform is entirely free for homeowners. We do not charge you for submitting a quote request, receiving quotes, or using any part of the platform. There is nothing to refund.

If you have engaged a tradie directly and have a dispute about the quality or completion of their work, that is a matter between you and the tradie. We are not a party to that contract and do not have authority to issue refunds on behalf of tradies.

We do encourage you to contact us if you have concerns about a tradie’s conduct, licensing, or professionalism: we take these reports seriously and use them to manage our tradie panel.

For tradies: lead fee refunds

We operate on a simple lead fee model. Tradies pay a flat fee for each verified homeowner lead sent to them. The following refund policy applies to lead fee charges:

When a full refund is issued

  • The homeowner contact details were incorrect or non-functional (phone/email bounced)
  • The lead was sent outside your agreed suburb or trade coverage area
  • A duplicate lead was charged (same homeowner, same job, within 30 days)
  • The lead was demonstrably fraudulent (spam submission, fake contact details)

When a refund is not issued

  • The homeowner chose a different tradie
  • The homeowner did not respond to your contact attempts
  • The job was smaller or different to what was described in the request form
  • You were unable to take the job due to your own availability or capacity

How to request a refund

To request a lead fee refund, contact us within 7 days of the lead being sent to you. Include the lead ID, the reason for your refund request, and any supporting information. We will review and respond within 3 business days.

Australian Consumer Law

Our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. Nothing in this policy limits or excludes any rights you have under Australian law that cannot be contracted out of.
